Stakes get used if a tree/ plant needs extra support, protection or help staying anchored
·New trees that can’t stand on their own or those that begin to lean.
Tree Stakes are made from Saligna wood.
Raw wood gets cut into different length and different thickness. The longer sizes also get points put on them. After the wood has been processed it gets treated and bundled.
Treatment of stakes
Unprotected – Stakes are not treated with any chemicals
Protected – Stakes are protected with a pesticide/fungicide to prevent insect damage
Protected & Waksol
A solvent based wax preservative, a sealant for raw timber
Droppers are wooden poles, larger than laths in general size, that are used for fences, supporting growing trees, garden edging or even vertical support beams. The droppers are CCA treated, so they are resistant to harmful insects and weathering. Wooden droppers are cheaper than metal droppers because they are literally grown and metal is a more precious resource, hence the risk of the metal droppers being stolen.
